About this event
This dynamic event brings together life sciences professionals in academia and industry representatives from local Vancouver companies with graduate students and postdoctoral fellows for an evening of career exploration.
The event will begin with a panel discussion with several members of the UBC academic community, followed by a resume workshop that is designed to help students translate their academic experience into marketable skills for industry. Following these sessions, we will host a networking social in which students will be able to network with business leaders/scientists, and HR professionals, learn about the different companies and career options, and make connections to facilitate future job searching. As one of CPhyGS's major events, we are very excited to bring back our Careers Fair in person this year. Join us in making meaningful local connections and taking the first steps into the job market. Raffle Attendance to the event enters you in a raffle to win one of four $25 UBC Bookstore gift cards!! Generously donated by the BC Diabetes Research Network. Swag bags! Attendants will get a swag bag generously donated by the Thermo Fisher. |

Using Resumes & LinkedIn to Promote Your Skills for Non-Academic Jobs
This session will offer some strategies for highlighting your skills and translating them for jobs outside of academia, using two key tools: your resume, and your LinkedIn profile. The session will be interactive, with plenty of time for questions. |
